Fresh produce

I found something I have wanted for a little while at the Cowdray Farm Shop.

Freshly squeezed organge juice Chichester West Sussex

I first came across one of these juicers in Dublin and the only other one I have come across was at a market stall in Portsmouth I think. Needless to say I bought a couple of bottles despite it being blustery and prone to a bit of rain outside.

I also found some Boerewors which I didn’t expect and was assured it was best British Boerewors that is popular with the locals.

I was short of time but stopped for tea at the cafe and would like to go back for another look as they stock a wide range of products which are worth a good browse.

An early start

A lovely delicatessen and cafe situated in the old part of town. All our fillings, cakes, quiche, soups and salads are made here on site by Ryan, Karen and Beverley. We serve very good coffee, and all our milk is local organic from Goodwood. We open at 8am for breakfast and coffee,and have a good range of homemade options for lunch. Everything is available to eat-in or for take-away. We also have a nice range of jams and chutneys, chocolates, cheese biscuits, gift tins etc on the shelves.

Breakfast

Breakfasts menus are all the same. Eggs and bacon, bacon & eggs as well as those ubiquitous beans. It gets boring. Which it shouldn’t be and when i saw the chorizo hash on the menu at Olive & Vine, I took note.

Walking trails

There are some stunning walks in and around Midhurst including one of the most spectacular sections of the South Downs Way from the Harting Downs to Cocking.

The most popular walking trail is a leisurely walk that follows the course of the River Rother. A circular three mile walk from the North Bridge Wier that takes one towards Stedham and  round to Woolbeding.
